Let me explain it to you. Its nothing but the same hiphop sung in tamil language. And its very interesting if you listen the story of tamil hiphop's origin.

Poetic Ammo: Actually it all started with Poetic Ammo, the first band from malaysia, in 1997, released their first single VALLAVAN, sung the hiphop in tamil featuring yogi B aka Yogeswaran Veerasingam & Anand. Yogi B was born & brought up in malaysia whose ancestors were Tamilians. The song was an instant hit.
CHAKRASONIC: After that few backstage artists of poetic ammo quit the band & started a new band called CHAKRASONIC. They released their debut album, kalai oru porr(meaning:art is a war) in 2002. The album was good but the punch was missing which was in vallavan. Then came their second album, kodi kelviyin badhil(meaning: answer for crores of question) in 2004. After this, the y started behaving like as if they are the Kings of tamil hiphop. But the backstage issues like cheating the record lable company, Dhanosh records by signing an agreement for 5 full years & breaking the same & joining another record label(NAR records) for the second album. CHAKRASONIC made a total mess and created an ill name among the malaysian audio industry. The group is comprised of Vijay, vivek varma & jack. Their 3rd album has been released recently and named as The Rise of brahmans feat. Yugendran(son of singer malaysia vasudevan).

Yogi B & Natchathira: Now comes the main stream of the tamil hiphop. The band is named Yogi B & Natchathira. The band comprises of Yogi B and Dr.Burn(Ruban manoharan) & Emcee jesz(Sudheesh saambasivam). Yogi B does not need any introduction. He is the ultimate king of tamil hiphop of poetic ammo fame. Natchatra which was founded three years ago. Both Burn & jesz are form tamil background & brought up in malaysia. Burn was producing for local Tamil pop-rock band Lock Up when one of its band members recommended him to Yogi. Dr.Burn has did a lot of underground stuff for local Tamil groups of malaysia. Also rapped for gigs here & there. Jesz was deejaying at a club in Bukit Bintang, malaysia. Thus the trio was formed with the people of same wavelength & thus the actual Kings of tamilhiphop was throned by the tamil people in their heart. The best feature I love with this band is the prononciation of tamil & the clarity of words & the rich tamil words beoing used all over the album. The album was released in November 2006 & its the band's debut one. The album features tracks that ranges from Money to God.
My favorite tracks are
#1 Madai thirandhu feat. lockup Guna
#2 Siva siva feat. prema
#3 vali theduthe
#4 Indian girl
#5 yenge kaadhal
#6 Rap Beats
The hottest track in the album is the mix "Madai thirandhu" featuring Lockup Guna (original track - madai thrirandhu composed by Dr.maestro Isaignani Ilaiyaraja in the movie Nizhalgal). The video of this track became instaneosly infectious among the tamil fans of music & made to turn back heads of hardcore hiphop fans like me to look at this album. This youtube link is being spread in the internet like a forest fire with hot flames. The album sells like hotcakes & yet to be released in India and 'am eagerly awaiting for the same. It really rocks and awesome is a very trivial word to appreciate the work done by these guys. The success of these guys shows us that hardwork really pays...
